Young Life at San Marcos High School
It all starts with
friendships.
Young Life is a student outreach ministry for high school students. Young Life Leaders show up to sporting events, coffee shops, and school lunchrooms to build friendships with students and share their lives with them.
Who We Are
-
Hunter Taylor is the Hays County Young Life Area Director, and oversees all San Marcos Ministries.
-
Shamyra Cathey is a full time Texas State Student who serves as our San Marcos High School ministry lead.
Shamyra is part of our Student Staff team and serves as a NextGen Leader of Hays County. She is a dedicated mentor and friend to many SMHS students.
-
A Young Life Leader is a college-age mentor who volunteers their time to disciple students involved in San Marcos Young Life.
From attending football games, to leading kids through regular Bible study, to spending a week with them at summer camp - our Leaders dedicate time to invest in the lives of San Marcos kids.
Seasoned Young Life Leaders have opportunities to engage in several leadership development programs here in Hays County: Student Staff, Mission Staff, and the NextGen Leader Program.
